Cool Events & News for Hot Summer Days

While most of us are experiencing the first days of "actual" summer, almost 100 AU Alumni & Friends recently returned from the Fourth Annual Alumni Cruise, June 2-12, to see Alaska in all of its majesty. The trip included cruise ports of Seward, Hubbard Glacier, Juneau, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Ketchikan and Vancouver, B.C. Several "cruisers" will be submitting their photos and favorite memories to AndersonAlums.com in the coming days.

Also, as you may be aware that this weekend kicks off the 123rd North American Convention of the Church of God (affectionately known by many of us as simply "Campmeeting"). We will be holding several alumni events during N.A.C. including the annual Alumni & Friends golf outing, African-American Alumni luncheon, 50th year class reunion for the class of 1959, SOT alumni luncheon, and more. You can watch the live stream of Friday night's opening session and concert, titled "One Lord, One Faith" here. The concert, sponsored by AU, begins at 7 p.m. (E.D.T).

Finally, be sure to check out all the other upcoming Alumni opportunities posted to the Events section of AndersonAlums.com. We just may be coming to a concert or baseball game near you sometime soon.

Welcome Home to Campmeeting!

Dear Forever Friends!
It's "Campmeeting" time in Anderson, Indiana! It's time to renew old friendships...and gain new ones! So if you're here for the week....or just a day or two...drop me a line, let me know you're here, and maybe we can get together for some "coffee flavored conversation, and friendship renewal"! May God bless your time here, and may you sense His presence in your life anew and refreshed!

Blessings,
Jim

Daria Barwinska Publishes Memoir of East Africa Trip

The fact that she is a published author has not yet sunk in for Daria Barwinska, a 2009 Anderson University graduate. Yet here she is, a native of Poland, holding a book she wrote in English based on a trip she took to Kenya, a trip she never would have taken had she not discovered Anderson University while researching colleges online.

For many incoming students at AU, there is a strong family or church connection, but for Barwinska, there was no prior conn… Continue

Do You Remember How Much Fun It Was?

I wish I would have known, at the time, how much fun I was having. Oh, I was enjoying myself and that was evident to me. But I didn’t realize during those college years that finally getting out of school and having a job was going to require so much time and effort and attention. People actually expect me to work and be productive every day as a condition of giving me a paycheck, it’s nuts!

So, I tell my son—who will be starting college this year—to cherish every moment. I tell him, “Pay attent… Continue
